West L.A. Academics connects dedicated high school students with adult learners and community members who need academic support for a variety of goals—whether it’s preparing to finish their high school diploma, brushing up on essential skills for a job readiness exam, or pursuing lifelong learning.

 

    Through this unique peer-led initiative, high school students who meet program qualifications serve as tutors, offering one-on-one support in subjects they’ve mastered. All tutors are trained, mentored, and carefully selected to ensure they are prepared to help others succeed.

Tutoring sessions take place at the Western Career Development Center, providing a supportive and accessible environment.

 

     This program not only empowers adult learners to reach their educational goals but also fosters leadership, empathy, and communication skills in our student tutors—building a stronger, more connected community for everyone.
